- For the Siege day, see Day 1 (Siege).
Day 1 is the first day of Lock's Quest, and the first proper day of Seacrest Shores.
Overview[]
After battling many Clockwork Soldiers, they start to crumble as Isaiah collapses again. Lock picks him up and questions why the Clockwork crumbling, to which Isaiah claims that the newly built Clockworks have limited Source supplies unlike in the Great War, giving the Archineers and Kingdom Force the advantage to hold them off until their Source supply runs out. However, it turns out their next target is the Source Well located in the main portion of Seacrest Shores. Worried for the safety of Tobias, Emi and the villagers, Lock picks up Isaiah and rush back to the village. As they leave, two new Clockworks, a Clockwork Knight and a Clockwork Brute approach the fallen Clockworks, questioning if they are Lord Agony's orders. They then call reinforcements to destroy the village.
Back at the village, Tobias berates Lock for going missing, but Lock warns him of the incoming Clockwork invasion, with the support of Isaiah. Lock asks Tobias for Emi's whereabouts, but Tobias berates Lock once again, questioning him for losing Emi. When Lock feels bad for sending her all alone to get help, Lock decides to find her, but Isaiah reminds him of the Clockworks. Tobias breaks up their argument, and asks Lock to help Isaiah to protect the Source Well, for the sake of the safety of the villagers.
Before Lock begins the battle, Isaiah teaches Lock his first Special Attack, the Attack Buff, which requires the player to tap the numbers in numerical order to deal extra damage to an enemy. In this day, Lock's objective is to protect the Source Well from Clockworks, so he'll need to build walls and a Basic Turret or two.
In the battle, just like the Tutorial, the only enemies are Clockwork Soldiers. They will attack the walls one-by-one, though the incoming waves will get larger during the final minute.
Changes in Lock's Quest (2017)[]
In the 2017 port, this is the last day played before the Tutorial ends, though it takes place in the main portion of Seacrest Shores. However, there are still 2 minutes of battle given to survive, but instead of protecting Isaiah, Lock has to protect the Source Well.
Strategies and guides[]
Building strategies[]
- DS
Using the four towers near the Source Well are good chokepoints to build Turrets and walls. There are multiple different ideas to utilize on how to build.
You can start off by using the two towers closest to the Source Well and build two Basic Turrets with a gate in the middle and two 1x1 walls at the corners. Alternatively, you could also build three Basic Turrets with walls connected on each, and to leave a space for Lock to pass through.
If you decided to go with the first defenses suggested, you may also want to build another Basic Turret with 2 2x1 walls on each side a few metres away, just where the sand walls end off from the left side, but you'll need to have 950 Source to spare on this, in which in total, you should have accumulated 2,750 Source after the Tutorial.
- 2017
For the 2017 port, using the two towers closest to the Source Well, you can just build a simple line of four Basic Turrets, so you're defense is near impenetrable for the first few days. Using any other chokepoint is completely lackluster; building additional walls won't provide any usefulness for this point of the game.
Battle strategies[]
- All you'll need to do is fend off the Clockwork Soldiers, repairing the little damage they can cause.
