Lock's Quest Wiki

Pain is the first boss in the game and one of Lord Agony's generals. He leads the Clockworks on their attack on Lock's village. Pain is the Clockwork Soldier general.

History[]

D5Pain

Pain commanding his troops.

Pain sends his army of Clockworks to capture the Source Well at Seacrest Shores.[1] As Lock, Tobias and Isaiah have finished evacuating the villagers and prepare to evacuate themselves, Pain orders his minions to start tearing down the huts and buildings.[2]

Pain sends hordes of Clockworks to attack Lock and Kingdom Force. As the Clockworks fail to break through, Pain brutally destroys a Clockwork Soldier and sends more forces to destroy Kingdom Force. Eventually, Lock successfully destroys Pain and his army.[3]

Pain (Siege)

Pain walking.

Pain appears as a boss in Siege. He is battled on Antonia West, on siege Day 5. He behaves like regular Clockwork Soldiers in said mode. He'll approach from the left of the screen and walk towards the tower. He can punch Kingdom Force allies and the tower, dealing 50 points of damage. Due to the sheer amount of strength he possesses, Pain must be destroyed with 25 regular shots or 9 explosive shots. He'll drop 750 Source when destroyed.

Guides[]

Boss battle[]

To defeat Pain, its best to set up a field of Acid Tripwires around the southeastern edge, as that is where Pain will approach from, though he rarely comes from the southwestern edge, so cover up both sides just in case.

As he is being hit with Acid, start attacking in him the Attack Buff, then retreat as Lock gets low on health. Before he leaves the field of Acid Tripwires, attack him again so it is long enough for Pain to be dissolved with Acid again. Then, let the turrets do the extra work.

Make sure at least one Goo Launcher is set up at the east, west and southern edges of the fortress. slowing down Pain's movements is quite useful when he starts attacking the fortresses rapidly. Repair and attack is key to taking down Pain.

Eventually, Pain will be destroyed without much problems.

After completing the game and returning to Northshore Fort on Day 12 in the Nintendo DS version, use the Acid Touch, Vampire Drain, Attack Buff and Lightning/Goo Storm attacks against Pain.

Siege[]

To defeat Pain in Siege, purchase a Shielder and Explosive shots from the Castle store. Have the Shielder protect the tower so that when Pain comes in, start hitting him with the explosive shots. Make sure to have 3 extra shots equipped too. Luckily, Pain only has Clockwork Soldiers assisting him, so there is no need to worry about enemies like Clockwork Archers.

Physical description[]

Pain Idle

Pain resembles a Clockwork Soldier, though he is much larger in size. His whole armor is colored dark red with orange-yellow details. The bottom part of his head is covered with steel. He also has blade-like objects under his arms.

In Siege, he has a smaller and slightly different appearance.

Personality traits[]

Not much is defined about Pain's personality, although he acts as a noble leader, complimenting his armies efforts of destroying Seacrest Shores.[1] He also has an aggressive side, that when displeased, he goes as far as to destroy one of Lord Agony's own creations.[3]
